This box features a beautiful book matched walnut top. It is trimmed in maple to provide an eye catching contrast of woods. Inside is a tray measuring approximately 7" X 4.5" which sits atop removable dividers to allow for flexible storage arrangements. The bottoms are lined with a soft slate blue ultrasuede to protect your valuables.
This lovely box was handcrafted in North Carolina. I select the wood based on grain patterns, shape of the box that I have in mind, and colors that appeal to me. Once assembled, the box is sanded using ultra fine sandpaper to make the wood feel like glass. The finish requires multiple coats of hand rubbed clear finish to achieve the glassy soft feel and bring out the beauty of the grains.
