Heavy Cotton, Six Pieces
2 pieces 61” x 33” / 2 pieces, 40” x 33” / 2 pieces 19” x 33”
Total, nearly 7 yards x 33” Repeat is about 17”
All have been finished as curtains with a slip for a rod and slight ruffle. The smallest have raw edge hems.
Nice condition, freshly soaked, washed and ironed. There are brown spots, holes, mends, fold marks, and water marks, as shown. Sadly, they were stored in cardboard in a garage, which did them no good, but they came back quite nicely.
I'm dating these from the 1950s, but they have a much older look and feel. I've spent all morning searching, and can find nothing like them, which makes me think they're older.
Use as curtains, (If it were me, I'd have them lined to avoid further sun damage), make pillows, bolsters, aprons or quilt backs! Plenty of usable fabric! Ann, Andy, a gingham dog and calico cat having lots of fun.
Miss Pym can go to an estate or jumble sale, or a vintage or thrift store, and not pause a second to look at a dress or an old pitcher or vase. Show her a piece of someone's abandoned fabric or needlework online, and you'd think she was rescuing kittens! These were at an estate sale, mixed in with sheets and towels. They were dirty and wadded, and she had no idea what they could be. She brought them home, and, soaked, washed, starched and ironed, they are adorable!
