This elegant woven bracelet is hand-crafted to order, from brilliant sterling silver jump rings in an eye-catching Byzantine chainmail pattern, accented by gorgeous jewel-tone anodized aluminum rings (forming a modified barrel capture weave) in your choice of color, including: black, blood red, cobalt blue, hot pink, royal purple or turquoise blue!

Each piece is then finished with a user-friendly toggle or lobster clasp (just let me know which you prefer, at purchase) for a secure fit.

I can make them in almost any size (if you aren't sure which you need, the averages are 6 1/2" for women and 8" for men), though if you normally wear tighter bracelets, I do recommend going for a looser fit, as chainmail can be uncomfortable if worn tight against the skin.

The sterling rings have an external diameter of 6mm (8.5mm for the anodized aluminum), so the bracelet is substantial enough to work well for both men and women.

- Note: this weave also works well for linking into a sheet, so if you prefer your bracelets to be wider and/or heavier than the one pictured, I would be happy to work with you to make a custom piece in a more substantial version of this design.

- Note: the colors can vary slightly between lots for the anodized aluminum, so if you need multiple pieces, it is a good idea to order them all at the same time. Also, my camera washes out the vibrancy of the jewel-tones a bit (sigh...) - they are more vivid in-person.


Cleaning Recommendations:

- Sterling silver will tarnish over time unless cleaned regularly, but please do not use a treated polishing cloth or other tarnish removal cream / liquid unless you have verified that it is safe for the anodized aluminum coating, otherwise it could strip the color.

- Anodized aluminum will not tarnish, however it can become dull over time (due to exposure to skin oils etc.). Also, if your skin chemistry is particularly acidic, it may wear away the top layers of the metal, altering or even removing the color. If this is the case with your skin, you have most likely noticed your skin turning green when you wear copper, most metals tarnishing extremely quickly and/or that plating wearing away almost instantly. You should have relatively few problems (aside from having to clean the piece a bit more often than usual) if you get a sterling finish only, without the aluminum rings.

- You can clean / brighten both metals at the same time, either by soaking the bracelet in soapy water (non-lotion dish soap), then lathering the soap by rubbing the bracelet with your hands, rinsing it and then air-drying.

Care Recommendations:

- The bracelet is very sturdy, however you should take care to keep it from snagging on things (if possible), as the jump rings in this (and most other) chainmail jewelry are not soldered or welded shut and can (with sufficient force) be pulled apart.

- Anodized aluminum holds up well over time, but the surface can be worn away by high friction or scratched by steel (and other harder materials), so it is a good idea to store it away from keys or other objects which might damage it.

- You can help keep the aluminum safe and slow down the tarnishing process for the silver, by keeping the bracelet in either a plastic or soft fabric bag, preferably out of the sunlight.
