Grey online Wool and Leather Weekender Bag - gray jacquard wool with genuine leather

online This weekender bag / duffel bag is made from hand-dyed leather and gray jacquard Pendleton® wool. I cut the leather pieces and then dye them with light brown leather dye. The circular ends of the duffel are made out of leather, as well as the straps circling the bag, the handles and the shoulder strap. There are two exterior pockets made with a gray patterned Pendleton® wool called Rancho Arroyo silver - one is 6.5" x 4", the other is 9" x 3.5". There is one interior pocket, approximately 8" by 8", made out of matching gray wool. The leather straps are sewn on to the sides of the bag, and then the handles rise above that with the carrying part doubled over and stitched along the edge for about 6". The shoulder strap is approximately 55" in length and is adjustable via a brass slide buckle which allows for another foot in length if desired. This strap can also be shortened considerably using the slide buckle. The strap is attached to the ends of the bag via 2 antique brass swivel-hooks, making this strap entirely removable if you wish. For the bag closure, there is a rust-colored zipper that unzips to both ends and joins in the middle.

Each piece is dyed using a water-based leather dye and gives the piece an antique and warm look. It also allows for the natural grain of the leather to come through, where grain variations absorb the dye differently across even a small cut piece. I finish it with a light coat of a leather finish for protection from the elements, which also keeps the leather supple and rich.
