Pemline introduces to you our popular rustic tree swing with Free Shipping!
This outdoor swing is made by hand from Southern Yellow Pine that is pressure treated to give you years of service. It has been carefully selected for beautiful character and strength that withstands the weather. New wood makes it last a long time, but we distress it to have that beautiful old feel. It is planed, cut, drilled, and finish sanded before being stained and receiving its first layer of polyurethane. Then it goes through a mechanical distressing process to give it a beautiful rustic look. Distressing includes simulated worm holes, cracks, bumps and gouges. It then receives a layer of glaze and another coat of polyurethane to lock in its beauty. The swing is 24” long, 7 ½” wide, and 1 ½” thick. This swing is designed to give your family years of reliable service.
Not all ropes are equal. We use Poly Dacron rope material because of its strength and handling properties. It resists stretching better than nylon rope, and feels much better to the touch than cheaper manila rope. This 5/8 inch diameter rope boasts a tinsel strength of 6400 lbs. It also holds up well to external environmental factors such as UV and even salt water. Poly Dacron rope is the ideal choice for safety, durability, and longevity, in all outdoor uses.
A generous 15 feet of rope per side is included in the price. If you prefer longer than 15 feet length, we are happy to provide what you need for an additional $1 per foot per side. Keep in mind that about 3 feet of rope is used per side for looping through the swing and splicing back into itself leaving about 12 feet above the swing seat when selecting the included standard 15 foot length. Remember that when installed, the swing should be about 2 feet or so above the ground.
The swing is delivered to you with the rope attached to the swing with a spliced knot which offers superior strength, so all you need to do is hang it from a tree. There are many ways to attach the rope to a tree limb. You can use aftermarket straps, some people install eye hooks into the tree, and others simply tie the rope around the tree limb. Whichever method you choose, be certain to find a limb that is large enough to support the load of the swing. Determine which method you prefer because it will affect how much rope you need.
Each swing is individually crafted and ships online 3-5 business days after order is placed.
