A very unique hand Embroidered bag with cotton floss silk satin stitch Embroidery with mirrors on hand spun hand woven cotton.

Embroidered by the choralia Ahir community of North east kutch, Gujarat.

These bags were Embroidered by the granny of the house to gift jewellery to the mother at the christening ceremony of the child. In India dowries/gift to the bride are not only given at the time of marriage but also at various other small family functions too.

This bag is in excellent condition and measures 10 inches long and 12 inches wide (at the bottom) with flap closed.

Unfortunately These Embroideries and the ladies who have made these with passion do online not make them as they are quite old and many are no more too. The sad part is the newer generation takes no interest in making these laborious Embroideries and the culture of making and gifting these Embroidery stuff is dying in almost all communities.
