A really lovely clear glass Victorian Era Christmas fairy light. The fairy lantern has a diamond or quilted pattern, and would have originally had a wire under the rim with a handle to hang it on a Christmas tree.
This fairy measures approximately 3.5" tall and is 2.75" across the rim. On the bottom is printed "BROCK'S ILLUMINATION LAMP" and "Made in France."
Antique glass that has been used for more than 100 years is handmade, so the mouth is jagged, and the thickness, fluctuations, bubbles, inclusions and lumps and colors of the glass are all unique and very nice.
These are not usually seen by collectors as faults or damage, but as part of the character of hand made glass and are not usually mentioned in online the description.
When I light my fairy lamps for the Holidays, I do not use real tealights anymore; I suggest that you use the led tealights now as they are much much safer!!!
