This item is a very lovely Quadruple Silver Plate #2123 Butter Dish Stand Knife Holder With Ice Tray Flower
& Leaf Design Southington Silver Co 1875-1885.
Back Stamp, Southington G Co, Quadruple Plate, and the #2123. This item is 11 3/4 inches high and 9 3/4
inches wide. Has a try that you can put ice in the bottom to keep your butter cool. Has the hooks on the top
of the Handle for tongs to get your ice and has a knife Holder. This item is mongram March 14, 1886 on one
side and on the other CMB to LBW, I have pictures of both. This item has a little History that I found.
1875-1885 Known as Southington Cutlery Co.
1892- Britannia Dept Reorganize as the Southington Silver Plate Co.
Than the co was bought by Meriden Britannia Co.
This item online does have wear from age and use. Please look at picture 2 and 10 This item does have a ding or dent
on the lid. I also have a clipping from a Newspaper from 9/26/98 from someone asking about this butter dish that
was left to them from a relative. There is write up on the history of this item. I do not know if the tray inside was
replace or just been replated. All paper work that I got with this butter dish will go with the item. A very lovely
