Confusion In Japan (KONRAN) - Framed Print On Metallic Paper With Black Mat (USA Only).
When I arrived in Japan (from the US) in 2010 for my first extended stay as an adult, I experienced extreme cultural confusion, or culture shock. In order to see the "real" face of the country, instead of always just experiencing Tokyo, I accepted a job in Tottori Prefecture - near Mt. Daisen and the Sea of Japan. I went to the beach to take a break from my stress and photographed numerous elements of the scene there. In rearranging the many photos into one composite, I found that my confusion had its own beautiful language and was actually an acceptable part of myself.
This photo collage went on to be featured alongside an online article I presented about cultural confusion, and the printed version was accepted to be part of a regional art exhibition, the Tottori Kenten.
Metallic paper is my favorite photo printing paper because it online breathes life into the artwork by giving it a luminous and deep quality. This print will come mounted on single weight matboard in order to give it extra support and also preserve its value over time. It will be framed with your choice of frame (please contact me for full range of frames available) along with a black mat and protected with non-glare glass. The size of the final product will depend on the frame chosen.
