Product code: Harbor online Porpoise in Recycled Hardwood #4
Also called the "Common" porpoise, the Harbor Porpoise lives in the shallow near-shores of the northern hemisphere. It is not playful and is generally not interested in boats, so it can be difficult to observe.
My version of this cold-water hermit was carved from rescued hardwood, stained, painted, then protected by clear acrylic spray. It measures about online 9-1/2" long and 7-1/2" high by 3-3/8" wide at the flukes. Mounted by dowel to a poplar base, it is dated and initialed by the artist.
"Common" or not, it's a very attractive animal, with nice clean lines and nicely patterned coloring. It would look marvelous in any room.
